GOP Sympathy for Domestic Terrorists
Republican Rep. Mo Brooks tweets support for domestic terrorist threatening to denote a bomb near the Library of Congress in D.C.
After a five-hour standoff, police arrested a Trump supporter who livestreamed Republican conspiracy theories and threatened to denote bombs around D.C. unless Democrats “step down.” Rep. Adam Kinzinger called out his Republican colleagues for inciting violence tweeting, “The GOP has a decision to make. Are we going to be the party that keeps stoking sympathy for domestic terrorists and pushes out truth, or finally take a stand for truth.”

Several members of Congress, including at least one Republican, have harshly criticized Rep. Mo Brooks after the Alabama Republican released a statement appearing to commiserate with a man who on Thursday had lodged a bomb threat near the U.S. Capitol and caused an hours-long standoff with police.

House members criticized Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., after he released a statement Thursday that appeared to be sympathetic to the man police had arrested earlier in the day in connection with a bomb threat near the U.S. Capitol.
