The Definition of Fascist
As President, Trump frequently expressed his admiration for dictators including saying that he needed "the kind of generals that Hitler had" and praising Hitler for doing "some good things."
Trump's former chief of staff and retired 4-star general John Kelly is warning that Trump wants to rule America as a fascist dictator who publicly suggested the “termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution” to overturn the 2020 election. In a recorded interview, Kelly defined fascism as "a far-right authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy" and said that Trump fits the "definition of fascist."
Trump's Day of Love
Trump is trying to rewrite the history of his violent January 6 Insurrection as he fights in court to keep the evidence from voters.
We all saw it live. Trump told his supporters to march on the Capitol telling them to, "fight like hell" or "you're not going to have a country anymore." And then for hours Trump did nothing as his MAGA mob violently assaulted capitol police, resulting in the death of 5 officers. Now Trump is fighting in court to suppress the evidence of his crimes, while continuing to lie to American voters about January 6 saying "nobody was killed" and that it was "a day of love."
A Private Criminal Effort
The Special Prosecutor details how "candidate" Trump was not acting in his official capacity when he "used deceit to target every stage of the electoral process."
A federal judge unsealed a redacted 165-page legal brief establishing the criminal case against Donald Trump. "Working with a team of private co-conspirators, the defendant acted as a candidate when he pursued multiple criminal means to disrupt, through fraud and deceit, the government function by which votes are collected and counted — a function in which the defendant, as President, had no official role.” The report establishes step-by-step that Trump's conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election "was a private criminal effort."
A Damning Non-Answer
Trump's MAGA movement and Project 2025 attacks on personal liberty and American democracy are unpopular with most voters—so they just lie.
During the VP Presidential Debate, J.D. Vance attempted to whitewash Trump's failed record and unpopular policies by lying about everything from abortion, healthcare, and immigration to climate change and tax cuts for billionaires. Vance's most outrageous lie was claiming that Trump saved Obamacare after repeatedly trying to overturn it. But the one thing Vance could not run from was Trump's Big Lie. After repeatedly refusing to admit that Trump lost the 2020 election, Tim Walz exposed Vance as an anti-democratic extremist by pointing out, "That is a damning non-answer."
The Good Old USA Project
Two US State Department indictments outline ongoing Russian plans to illegally fund rightwing social media influencers and subverting US elections to elect Republicans.
The DOJ unsealed two federal indictments accusing Russian state media employees of illegally funding right-wing social media personalities and launching a state controlled operation called "Doppelganger" to undermine US support for Ukraine and elect Republicans. Although partially redacted by the DOJ, a Russian political strategy document's stated goal "to secure victory" for a Republican Presidential candidate in 2024 is by targeting voters in swing states. It was mockingly titled "The Good Old USA Project."
Deja Vu All Over Again
Trump is doubling down on election conspiracy theories and the Big Lie because Kamala Harris is now leading in the polls.
Donald Trump is scared of losing—again. Since Biden dropped out last month, the presidential election has flipped. Democrats have united behind Vice President Kamala Harris who is surging online and in the polls. In what feels like Deja Vu All Over Again, Trump is spreading the same disinformation and election conspiracy theories as a setup to challenge the 2024 elections results.
Donald Trump is Unfit
As Democrats panic about Biden's age and poor poll numbers, Trump and his allies are planning the end of American multicultural democracy.
There is only one issue in this election: Donald Trump is a convicted criminal that is a direct threat to democracy, the rule of law, and our most basic personal freedoms. Trump's vision for authoritarian rule is outlined in Project 2025 authored by the ultra rightwing Heritage Foundation with the active participation of over 140 individuals from Trump's first administration. Project 2025 is a 900 page dystopian blueprint to remake America as a white Christian nation headed by a Trump dictatorship.
A King Above the Law
“With fear for our democracy, I dissent,” wrote Justice Sotomayor, joined by Kegan and Jackson. “Today’s decision to grant former Presidents criminal immunity reshapes the institutions of the Presidency. It makes a mockery of the principle, foundational to our Constitution and the system of Government, that no man is above the law.” The Justices noted that, “The relationship between the President and the people he serves has shifted irrevocably. In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law.”
MAGA Corrupts the Courts
Ultra rightwing conservative justices are turning a blind eye to corruption and are putting their thumbs on the scales of justice in order to help Trump avoid legal accountability.
The public's faith in the American legal system is collapsing for good reason. Rightwing justices have overturned decades of legal rights and are helping Trump avoid accountability by supporting rightwing legal theories without precedent or merit. Regardless of all of this, Chief Justice Roberts has rejected ethics reform despite the growing number of court scandals, including Justice Thomas accepting millions in undisclosed gifts from rightwing billionaires and Justice Alito publicly flying flags supporting the January 6 Insurrection.
GOP Assaults Rule of Law
Convict Trump and his GOP enablers are orchestrating an all out attack on our judicial system and the rule of law.
GOP leaders rushing to defend convicted felon Trump are further exposing the hypocrisy of the Republican Party. When Trump lost the 2020 election, Republicans passed dozens of "election integrity" laws to disenfranchise millions of voters. Now that Trump is a felon, the so called "law and order" Republicans are attacking our courts in an all out assault on the rule of law.
A Necessary Punishment
Trump is fined the maximum amount allowed by law for violating a NY court gag order "to protect the integrity of these proceedings by shielding those fearful of reprisal.”
The President and the Pornstar New York criminal trial has exposed Trump’s dirty little secrets and he is not happy. When Trump is not complaining about his own attorneys or threatening to jail his enemies, he has been attacking witnesses and the Jury in violation of a court issued gag order. The Judge warned Trump that if fines are an insufficient deterrent, “jail may be a necessary punishment.”
Unindicted Co-Conspirator 1
An Arizona grand jury indictment identifies Donald Trump as Unindicted Co-Conspirator 1: “A former president of the United States who spread false claims of election fraud following the 2020 election.”
Arizona has become the fourth state to indict multiple defendants in a wide ranging conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. The 18 indicted individuals include the fake electors who signed false affidavits as well as seven top Trump associates including Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, and John Eastman, who were the architects of the fake elector plot. Also indicted is attorney Chiristina Bobb who led efforts to promote Trump's false conspiracy theories about the 2020 election on national media and was recently appointed by the RNC to head their newly formed “election integrity division."
Not with a Bang, But a Nap
Despite the salacious nature of the President and the Porn Star, a weary Donald Trump was caught dozing off on the first day of his historic criminal trial.
Donald Trump is the first American president to be tried in criminal court. Trump spent millions of his supporters' money in a failed attempt to avoid criminal prosecution by filing frivolous motions, dubious appeals, and spreading unsubstantiated deep state conspiracy theories. And after all his late night attacks and rants in ALL CAPS on his fake social media platform, the visibly exhausted former president set off a "Sleepy Don" meme firestorm when he was caught dozing at his own criminal trial.
The Hypocrisy of Rightwing Judges
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled against states' rights, forcing Trump back on the Colorado ballot on the VERY SAME DAY that Trump's election interference trial was scheduled to start, but instead has been indefinitely delayed by the same Court.
Evangelical Christians and rightwing politicians have made appointing ultra-conservative judges the tip of the spear in their culture war against American multicultural democracy. Resulting in state and federal judges who routinely ignore the law and decades of precedent in order to make politically motivated rulings that attack our fundamental constitutional and legal protections. Today, the hypocrisy of the Supreme Court is further exposed when they fast tracked overturning Colorado's ruling that Trump violated the Insurrection Act, but indefinitely delayed his federal criminal prosecution for the very same crime.
Dumb, Dangerous, and Un-American
Donald Trump has a long history praising authoritarian dictators and criticizing democratic countries. Now, he's threatening to let Russia attack our NATO allies.
Recently, Trump has been pressuring Republican lawmakers to block the bipartisan Senate foreign aid packet that includes military support for Ukraine. Trump also bragged at a rally that he threatened our NATO allies telling them if "You didn’t pay. You’re delinquent," and that he would “encourage [Russia] to do whatever the hell they want.” President Biden blasted Trump for viewing our NATO defensive alliance as a “protection racket.” Biden said that no US president “has ever bowed down to a Russian dictator,” and called Trump’s actions “dumb”, “dangerous” and “un-American”
Shameful, Criminal, Violent
Donald Trump finally admits that January 6 was an insurrection, but tries to blame Nancy Pelosi.
For two hours the Supreme Court ignored the central issue that the Colorado Courts determined that Donald Trump was disqualified for holding public office for inciting an insurrection. When Trump's attorney was finally asked if January 6 was an insurrection he admitted that, “the events were shameful, criminal, violent," but refused to call it an insurrection. Trump, who previously called January 6 a "beautiful day", strangely contradicted his attorney immediately after the hearing when he told the press “I think it was an insurrection caused by Nancy Pelosi." For the record, Trump told his rallied supporters to "fight like hell" just before they stormed the Capitol chanting "Hang Mike Pence."
Complete and Total Immunity
Trump is on his usual delusions. In his mind, nothing can take him down—not even criminal trials or widely seen recordings circulated from the past couple of years—all under the mistake belief of “presidential immunity”.
During his second defamation trial Trump couldn’t help himself from his usual snide comments and claims of a “witch hunt”, which almost got himself kicked out of the trial. Mika Brzenzinski describes it perfectly, “Through this trial, you really are reminded what a vile, disgusting person Donald Trump is.” Trump and his lawyers, in defense of his 91 criminal charges, have also asserted—and Trump has posted this himself on Truth Social—that “a president of the United States must have fill immunity, without which it would be very impossible for him/her to properly function.”
On the Eve of Jan 6th
The future of the mastermind behind the Insurrection is now in the hands of the Supreme Court's conservative supermajority — three sitting Justices were appointed by him.
Three years after the Capitol Insurrection and months before primary elections take place, Trump has been barred by states from appearing on their ballots. Four years after a high profile child sex trafficker died in prison, Trump is publicly named as one of his repeat guests. Today, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear Trump's appeal to get back on Colorado's ballot.
A New Year, A New Lie
As we welcome the new year, we're also sure to welcome more of Trump's lies and hateful rhetoric. It's only a couple days into the year and Trump's hasn't disappointed.
Despite his own investigator debunking any instances of voter fraud, Trump is still undeterred and continuing with his baseless accusations. His argument against the Maine ruling barring him from 2024 ballot is that the Main Secretary of State “abused her discretion and relied on ‘untrustworthy evidence.’”
We'll Take Care of That
Within 30 minutes of Wayne County Board of Canvassers voting to certify the 2020 election, Donald Trump called the two Republican members promising them attorneys if they refused to sign the official documents.
16 people have already been charged in Michigan for signing paperwork falsely asserting that Trump had won the state in 2020. Now a tape has surfaced of Trump pressuring two Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers to not sign the official documents as is required by law. Also on the call, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel is heard saying they would look ""terrible"" if they signed the papers and that ""we will get you attorneys."" To which Trump added: ""We'll take care of that."
