The 2024 election was decades in the making. When Ronald Regan won a landslide reelection in 1984, the Democratic leadership abandoned FDR's progressive economic policies that won 50 years of Democratic Congressional majorities. Now, after a second devastating loss to Trump's politics of division, Democrats must unite around a bold economic agenda that can change lives and inspire a new generation.
The American People are Angry
Despite Trump's hateful bigotry and White Christian nationalism, Americans voted for Trump's anti-establishment message over a Democratic Party that has embraced the status quo over the needs of working people.
Senator Bernie Sanders has been warning for years that the "the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party" have failed to "understand the pain and political alienation that tens of millions of Americans are experiencing." Sanders blamed Democratic leaders for "defending the status quo" and failing to recognize that "the American people are angry and want change."
Elect America's First Female President
Donald Trump is a disgusting Male Chauvinist Pig and women are not going to take it anymore.
Women across America are fed up with Donald Trump and his hateful, anti-woman MAGA movement. He brags about groping women and then attacks his victims with lies, insults, and threats of violence. He already overturned Roe, and if elected to a second term will pass a national abortion ban. The Time is NOW! Women are organizing online, person-to-person, and even in bathroom stalls, to elect America's first female president.
Whether "The Women" Like It or Not
Trump's creepy doublespeak pledge to "protect the women" is as vile, disgusting, and othering as as his long history of sexual assault and misogyny.
In Trump's dystopian world women only exist to serve the egos of men and make babies. He bragged that "You can do anything. "Grab ‘em by the pussy" and for reproductive freedom saying, "I was able to kill Roe v Wade." Twenty-seven women have accused Trump of sexual misconduct, including a trial jury finding Trump liable for lying about raping E. Jean Carroll. So, everyone should be horrified by Trump's strangely worded and dehumanizing pledge to "protect the women," saying “Well, I'm going to do it whether the women like it or not."
Trump Recreates 1939 American Nazi Rally
Trump's anti-immigrant hate, "poisoning the blood", "occupied country", and "American for Americans" statements all echo the hateful bigoted, racist, lies of American Nazis 85 years earlier.
Donald Trump understands the power of symbolism. Trump launching his presidential campaign at Waco Texas on the 30th anniversary of the siege was a clear message of support to right-wing, violent, anti-government extremists. And picking the site of the infamous 1939 American Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden, Trump shows his support for the same hateful, racist, bigoted, anti-immigration beliefs.
The Father of Lies (John 8:44)
Hurricanes Helene and Milton have created a biblical disaster, so Trump and MAGA are spreading lies.
Without regard for the millions whose lives have been upended by two biblically destructive hurricanes, Trump and his MAGA allies are spreading dangerous lies about FEMA disaster funds and crazy conspiracy theories about Democrats controlling the weather to steal votes. In the Bible, Jesus exposes liars as the children "of your father the devil" who has "no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies." Taylor Swift's quick endorsement of Kamala Harris minutes after the Presidential debate further exposed Trump's lies "and the dangers of spreading misinformation."
During the presidential debate, a visibly unhinged Donald Trump became even more agitated as debate moderators corrected his most outrageous lies about infanticide, the 2020 election, and migrants eating pets. The final coup d'état was delivered after the debate by Taylor Swift who called out Trump's lies with an Instagram endorsement of Kamala Harris signed "With love and hope, Childless Cat Lady."
Trump's 920 Page Playbook
Democrats slam Donald Trump for his role in the January 6 Insurrection and the MAGA effort to remake America as a White Christian Theocracy.
Project 2025 is the Heritage Foundation's 920 page dystopian blueprint for a second Trump term to ban abortion, deport millions of immigrants, and install loyalists at every level of government. At the DNC convention, speakers repeatedly trolled Trump for trying to hide his deep connections to Project 2025 with Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz telling the audience that, "when somebody takes the time to draw up a playbook, they’re gonna use it.”
Trump's Coalition of the Weird
The Republican party is now dominated by strange bedfellows who have declared a Holy War on the administrative state and American multicultural democracy.
Like the parable of the boiling frog, Trump kept turning up the heat until he killed the old Republican Party. The Trump-Vance campaign is a strange coalition of white Christian Nationalists, QAnon deep state conspiracy theorists, and ultra right-wing paramilitary bigots backed by the financial support of Tech Bro billionaires and anti-government Crypto Kings willing to spend millions to elect Trump's Coalition of the Weird.
The Hillbilly Misogynist
Trump's pick for Vice President is an MAGA extremist who believes women should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.
J.D. Vance is making all the wrong headlines for his unabashed sexist beliefs. In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Vance called Kamala Harris and other Democratic leaders, "childless cat ladies" who "want to make the rest of the country miserable." His dystopian vision for America is The Handmaid's Tale, where women only exist to make babies and serve the vanity of men.
The Prosecutor and The Convict
Democrats joyfully unite around Vice President Kamala Harris, the former prosecutor, while Trump world predictably panics by spouting out racist, sexist slurs.
The 2024 election has been turned upside down. Within the first 24 hours of Biden halting his re-election campaign, Democrats quickly embraced Vice President Harris who raised a record $81 million and has already secured enough delegates to be the presumptive Democratic nominee. Trump and his allies are clearly shaken as the internet explodes with #KamalaISbrat and pro Kamala memes supporting the much younger Harris who can prosecute the case against the convicted felon.
The Idiocracy of Trumpamania
Hulk Hogan, Dana White and Kid Rock were the perfect intellectual warm-up acts for the toxic masculinity of Trump's dark, dystopian vision to end American democracy.
It is pointless to fact-check Trump's rambling, 90 minute acceptance speech. Key features were the expected regurgitation of MAGA's bigotry and resentments, Trump's self-aggrandizing lies and praise of authoritarian strong-men, and tirades completely devoid of any clear policy objective other than the mass deportation of millions of American workers. Everything you need to know about Trump's Republican Party is the convention highlight of pro-wrestler Hulk Hogan ripping off his shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance tank top to a cheering GOP crowd.
The Perfect Frankenstein's Monster
Trump's pick for VP, J.D. Vance, has deep connections to the ultra conservative Heritage Foundation, Project 2025 and rightwing tech billionaires.
J.D. Vance was the self-described "never Trump guy," who once called the former president "America's Hitler." Now he is Trump's running mate, a MAGA culture warrior, and now has the strong backing of anti-government tech bros and crypto billionaires like Peter Thiel and Elon Musk. Governor Tim Walz accurately described J.D. Vance as “the perfect Frankenstein monster created by the Heritage Foundation.”
The Flag of American Theocracy
The "Appeal to Heaven" flag flown by Supreme Court Justice Alito is an anti-democratic symbol adopted by Christian Nationalists fighting to remake America as a religious theocracy.
The leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) promote themselves as apostles endowed by God to wage a religious war against American multicultural democracy and secular society. GOP members of Congress, including Speaker Johnson, have signaled their allegiance to this dangerous anti-democratic movement by displaying the “Appeal to Heaven” banner outside of their offices. Lindsay Beyerstein reported in Salon that, “the banner is the calling card of a Christian supremacist movement seeking to impose theocracy on America.”
The Mouth of Trump
Speaker Mike Johnson and GOP leaders are shamefully repeating Trump's hateful lies and attacks against the courts in what may be a violation of Trump's gag order.
The N.Y. judge has warned Trump that continuing to violate the court order prohibiting Trump from "making or directing others to make public statements" attacking witnesses, jurors, and the court's staff could result in jail time. Although this decision was upheld by a five-judge appeals court, it has not stopped GOP Speaker Mike Johnson and the MAGA elite from repeating Trump's attacks in what seems to be a coordinated effort to violate Trump's gag order.
A Political Loser
Donald Trump knows abortion is a loser for Republicans in a general election, but he cannot afford to lose his Evangelical base.
Trump reversing his position on a national abortion ban is yet another election lie. After taking credit for overturning Roe v. Wade and teasing his support for a national abortion ban, Trump is now trying to appease general election voters without losing support from his Evangelical base. Attorneys inside the anti-abortion movement have already published plans for a national abortion ban. One such attorney told an Atlantic reporter “It’s obviously a political loser, so just keep your mouth shut. Say you oppose a federal ban, and see if that works.”
Prejudice, Nativism, and White Supremacy
Donald Trump selling bibles should be a joke, except it speaks directly to his Evangelical base that embraces Trump as the savior of White Christian Nationalism.
For Holy Week, Donald Trump unveiled his latest scam, selling "God Bless the USA" bibles for $59.99. Not only is this highly offensive to many Christians but it fits the classic American Trope of the unsavory Bible salesman who uses religion as a scam. Liz Cheney called out Trump's hypocrisy, telling him, "instead of selling Bibles, you should probably buy one. And read it, including Exodus 20:14"—Thou shalt not commit adultery. Historian Jemar Tisby writes that Trump selling bibles appeals to White Christian Nationalism "historically tied to prejudice, nativism and white supremacy."
Russia and Russian Agents
Rudy Guiliani's former associate calls out Trump and GOP leaders for knowingly spreading Russian propaganda and “pushing a false narrative" about President Biden.
The House Oversight Committee hearing to impeach President Biden dissolved into chaos when Guiliani's former associate called out Republicans saying, "The American people have been lied to, by Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani and various cohorts of individuals in government and media positions." Lev Parnes named individual GOP congressional leaders for spreading Russian "falsehoods to serve their own interests, knowing it would undermine the strength of our nation." Parnes added, "The only information ever pushed on the Bidens and Ukraine has come from one source and one source only: Russia and Russian agents."
Exploiting Rape for Political Purposes
Senator Katie Britt's lying about a child human trafficking victim during the GOP response to the State of the Union is a new low for Republican women who exploit sexual violence.
Women leaders in the GOP are routinely using the threat of sexual violence to scare voters, while defending Donald Trump and the hateful policies that attack women. They call educators defending transgender youth "groomers" and accuse abortion and IVF healthcare professionals of being sex traffickers who traffic in human embryos. Activist Karla Jacinto Romero, who blasted Senator Katie Britt for lying about her rape, said Britt was "using my story and distorting it for political purposes."
Putin's Pawn
Despite Trump comparing his investigations to Navalny's assassination, he still can't seem to connect the dots on why Putin is to blame.
On the 2016 campaign trail, Trump foreshadowed his fondness for Russia. Eight years later, he has come out advocating for closer ties with Moscow by doubling down on his anti-NATO, pro-Putin rhetoric. He can't seem to make himself criticize Putin because of his admiration for authoritarian leaders; despite comparing himself to a victim of authoritarian rule and censorship.
