Trump: Leave the Rest to Me
Evidence mounts that Trump and his congressional allies pressured DOJ and other government officials in a criminal conspiracy to overturn the election.
The Department of Justice released Richard Donoghue’s handwritten notes documenting how Trump pressured then acting attorney general Jeffrey Rosen to make false claims of voter fraud. When informed that DOJ had no power to overturn the election results, Trump replied, “Just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me” and to congressional allies.

WASHINGTON — President Donald J. Trump pressed top Justice Department officials late last year to declare that the election was corrupt even though they had found no instances of widespread fraud, so he and his allies in Congress could use the assertion to try to overturn the results, according to new documents provided to lawmakers.
