Two More Held in Contempt of Congress
On Wednesday, the House voted to charge former trade and manufacturing director Peter Navarro and former White House communications chief Daniel Scavino Jr. in contempt of Congress.
Navarro and Scavino are the latest among the top Trump aides to be charged, along with Steve Bannon and former chief of Staff Mark Meadows. The House voted as a result of both aides refusing to comply with the investigation. The split vote, 220-to-203, among party lines, initiated steps that ultimately end with the Justice Department's prerogative to pursue prosecution. If pursued, the case could result in a year in prison and a fine of up to $100,000 for both aides.

With the final decision resting on the Justice Department's hands, "members of the committee have privately and publicly grumbled about the Justice Department’s silence, expressing concern that Garland’s quiescence has the potential to seriously hamper their investigation."
